Its summer! Everyone enjoys time in the sun. Sunlight makes us feel better, but also ages our skin. Safe sun practices, including a good sunscreen is always advisable. So which one is best? I always recommend an SPF50+ that has broad spectrum UVA and UVB cover. Most reputable sunscreens will list this label in the packaging.
Physical sunscreens that contain titanium, zinc or aluminum often offer the highest protection but may leave a visible residue. These are great for outdoors though. Most patients prefer a sunscreen that is light and invisible. Whichever one you choose, make sure to re-apply regularly and apply liberally. Sunscreens that I commonly recommend are:
- EUCERIN Oil control dry touch face SPF 50+ for indoors
- Cetaphil Daylong SPF 50+ for in and out doors
- Uriage Barier Sun SPF 50+ for the beach!
